DIY Plant Stakes
1. Start with a Design
First things first—head over to Etsy and purchase an SVG design for your plant stakes. There are countless beautiful designs available, so pick one that speaks to your style or matches the aesthetic of your garden. The one I purchased is HERE
2. Upload to XTool Creative Space
Once you’ve got your SVG file, upload it into XTool Creative Space. This is where the magic happens! The interface is super user-friendly, making it easy to get started, even if you’re new to laser cutting.
3. Personalize Your Plant Stakes
Here’s where you can let your creativity run wild. I love adding text to each plant stake, and selecting fun fonts is one of my favorite parts. Before you start, make a list of the plants you’re growing so you can personalize each stake. You can use a different font or style for each plant type to add some variety.

4. Prepare Your Acrylic
Once you’re happy with the text placement, it’s time to set up your clear acrylic in the XTool bed. Clear acrylic is my go-to for plant stakes because it’s durable and looks fantastic in any garden.

5. Maximize Your Space with Live Preview
With XTool’s Life Preview feature and close-range camera, you can take a photo of the inside of the P2 and precisely place your designs on the acrylic sheet. This ensures you’re making the most of your material, avoiding waste, and getting the perfect cut every time.
6. Fine-Tune Your Settings
Before you hit “go,” make sure to dial in the right settings for your materials. I highly recommend doing a cut test to find the best settings. For acrylic, I like to use 30/10/1 for cutting and 60/500/1 for engraving. These settings will give you sharp, clean cuts and beautifully detailed engravings.

7. Start the Cutting Process
Once everything looks good, select “Go to Process” and start the machine. A quick safety note—always stay with your machine while it’s running and keep an eye on it. Safety first!
8. Clean Up
After the machine has finished cutting, carefully remove your plant stakes and clean the baseplate. This will keep your machine in top condition and ready for your next project.
9. Plant Stake Final Touches
To remove any residue left from engraving, wash your plant stakes with soap and warm water. This will give them a clean, polished look.

10. Ready to Use!
Your personalized plant stakes are now ready to be placed in your garden! Not only are they functional, but they also add a touch of personality to your outdoor space.
These DIY plant stakes are a fantastic way to personalize your garden and ensure your plants are well-labeled. With the XTool P2 CO2 Laser, you can create durable, acrylic plant stakes that will last season after season. Happy crafting! ????
