Why Create A Vision Board
The idea behind a vision board is to put your goals out on paper in a sense. The process of creating a vision board allows you to visualize the goals you have set out for the year. It is a great tool for manifestation.
Research has shown that mental practices such as meditation, manifestation, and visualization are powerful. Visualization can actually increase motivation, confidence, dedication, and basically prep your brain for your success.
Why Create A Vision Board With Your Kids?
I want to teach my kids how powerful their brain really is. My husband and I find ourselves telling them over and over “Your brain is the most powerful thing. You can do anything you can think of”.
With this activity not only do you get to teach them about visualization, you are opening the door into the direction they wish to take their lives as well as teach them about setting goals. This is a great opportunity for you to get to know your child even better.
A huge bonus is how fun of an activity this is! It’s a great craft activity.

How To Create A Vision Board With Your Kids
Now let’s get to the how to part! A huge plus is this activity is extremely affordable as well!
Vision Board Supplies
- Old Magazines, Newspaper, Pinterest images, etc.
- Poster Board- My go to size is 28×22. You can grab one at your dollar store. I purchased this 10 pack from Target . For my little one I cut it in half.
- Glue Sticks
- Scissors
Talk About Vision Boards
My first step is to introduce my kids to what a vision board is. Explain to them how this is a board of what they wish to accomplish in the following year. Discuss goals they have, places they want to visit, hobbies they want, etc.
Search Magazines or Print
I collect magazines throughout the year for this activity. During this time help your kids find images that match their goals and wishes. Maybe it’s wording, quotes, or images they want.
I also love to find images on Pinterest or Google for those goals I can’t find in the magazines.

Cut & Arrange & Glue
After they find what they want we cut all the images out. I let my 4 year old use her safety scissors for this. It’s also a great motor activity.
Bring out your poster board and go over how they want to arrange their images. Go ahead and glue everything on to the board.
Display
Display your vision boards somewhere you can see them daily. My vision board and my husbands’ will go next to our work spaces. I will place my oldest’s board next to her desk so she can see it daily. My 4 year old’s will go next to her desk area as well.
Look at it Daily
Make looking at your boards part of your daily routine. Maybe you can take this time to reflect on your goals and do a quick progress check. I love looking back and seeing what I’ve already accomplished.
Whether your board is full of personal goals or career goals- I hope the universe gives all you want. Happy New Year
