Let’s talk about the Cricut Joy machine today! You guys know I love my Cricut machines & all the wonderful things I create with them. The possibilities are literally endless & gifting one of these beautiful machines is bound to put a HUGE smile on someone’s face!
Earlier this year Cricut launched their Cricut Joy machine. The Cricut Joy is the newest in their line of smart-cutting machines. I own the Cricut Explore Air 2, Cricut Joy, and the EasyPresses and can truly speak to the awesomeness of their products!
Cricut Joy Machine Details
First, let’s just get some background on the machine. The Cricut Joy was launched early 2020! The machine was launched alongside a new line of products made specifically for the Joy with no mats needed.
In the past 9 months of using this machine I have come to really appreciate it’s abilities and unique features. Let’s dive in!

1.Cricut Joy Size:
To start off this machine is considerably smaller than it’s big sisters the Explore line and the Maker. This means you no longer need a large storage space or working space.
2.Portability:
Because of it’s small size it also makes the machine super portable. There are times I just grab my Joy and sit at the dining table or even up in my bedroom. You can literally work anywhere with it!
3.Less Supplies:
The Cricut Joy machine launched alongside of the Smart Materials! Smart Materials are compatible only with the Cricut Joy and require NO MATS to use. To me- this means less to carry around and transport. There are Smart Materials from iron-on to Vinyl!
4.Quick-projects Friendly:
Creating with the Cricut Joy is so quick to do. Part of that reason is with the Smart Materials you cut the time to load to mats and such!

I know sometimes creating projects on a Cricut can seem intimidating. The Cricut Joy is such a perfect machine specially if you are starting out. My 10 year old has taken over the Joy and loves to create quick DIY crafts and personalizes just about everything.

8.Easy Cards:
Probably one of my favorite things to create with the Cricut Joy machine are cards. You can purchase Joy Card Inserts and the Card Mat to make quick, unique, and beautiful cards. There are a ton of designs on Design Space perfect for any occasion.
9.Cricut Joy machine Draws:
I love that although the Cricut Joy machine is smaller it has the ability to draw with it’s Cricut Joy pens! I have seen projects from cards to addressing envelopes all done with this small but mighty machine
10.Small but Mighty:
Although the Cricut Joy is small and compact you do not sacrifice it’s power. You can cut individual shapes up to 4ft long or repeated cuts up to 20ft long! Not to mention you can cut 50+ materials with it as well; from iron on to cardstock and so much more!
